So much for scaling back openings; here's the exclusive first word on three new Starbucks via a staff meeting today:
Hoboken's getting two new Starbucks. One at Metrostop off the 9th Street Light rail station, which will be opened Light rail hours, 5AM - 1AM with another opening on 4th and Washington around the same time.
And Bayonne, New Jersey, catching up to the 20th Century, is getting their first Starbucks, opening in December with an expected push-back date of January, the slowest, worst time of year to open a Starbucks according to an employee. This is apparently not related to another opening due another year after that.
Also the Newport branch of Starbucks, starting this summer, will be open 24 hours a day from Wednesday through Sunday with extended hours past midnight the rest of the week. More and more Starbucks are adopting the 24 hours formula state-wide despite limited profits in the overnight hours; skeleton crews and cordoned-off sections are expected in the late night.
