Zak Pelaccio's foray into light hors d'oeuvre and def jams.
There's a feature on Eater called the Zak-O-Matic. It parodies Pellacio's pursuits providing examples of future consulting gigs at the press of a button.
For example:
"Zak Pelaccio is teaming with Russell Simmons on a rustic charcuterie roadhouse in Pier 40. Pelaccio tells us it'll open by Labor Day."
It's like Mad Libs for foodies and making our own we're reminded of the days when New York magazine ran its weekly competition. (How hard would this be to bring back, Grub Street? Submissions for unimbibable PDT cocktails, unexplored cuisines, Restaurant Girl misphrases, Top Chef product placements, etc, for a free one year subscription?)
That we clicked through to a fabricated Russell Simmons - Zak Pelaccio reference was fortuitous this morning as it's not that far from the truth. Proving wrong that Pelaccio and Goldfarb are done with their involvement in the Renaissance Hotel in Times Square after consulting on Chop Suey's menu, the chefs are now catering a weekly hip-hop happy hour:
"There are so many cool spots to hang in NYC. There’s a million things going on at once and so much competition with vying for getting YOU to come out. With getting the right hot, beautiful and trendy people to THE SPOT- The events I produce- I want you there– but we have tons and tons of options. Well - guess what?
Here’s an after-work hang - with no pre-tense yet stylish, sophisticated, cool, fabulous and low key all in one. Imagine that.
A new weekly- Wednesdays at ‘The Upstairs’ at The Renaissance Times Square.
6PM-10PM– kicking off April 30th….
EVERY WEDNESDAY!
Dhundee and Moni on the decks playing all your musical treats.
This is a very special room that has both haute design elements and warm comfort. Stop by and enjoy signature cocktails from Sagatiba Cachaca. The Milk Honey crew designed the cocktail list and Chop Suey restaurant chef’s Zak Pelaccio and Will Goldfarb will also provide light hors d’oeuvres to entice your taste buds."
Come on, who saw that coming?
Wednesdays at The Upstairs, 6pm - 10pm, at the Renaissance Times Square, 714 7th Avenue at 48th Street, New York, NY. RSVP at info@thebloomeffect.com
