A few days ago we posted NJ.com was premature in announcing Bayonne was caught up with 21st Century movie ticketing practices. Well they actually printed a retraction two days ago! We're guessing they didn't link to our post because it's anti-Smith, but considering the only people who read about Bayonne on the internet don't live in Bayonne, they really shouldn't have worried.
Alas the Film It In Bayonne site is still in 2005 mode as well and one of our favorite mistakes on the site is how it doesn't connect to Bayonne's Urban Enterprise Zone site because the link's written out in capital letters instead of lower case letters. Of course there's more than enough blame (or credit if they fix things) to go around, as Councilman Anthony Chiappone is on the board of the Bayonne UEZ. Even if he's polling behind Mark Smith, he can at least prove he's qualified to fix Film It site contact Leo Smith's mistakes. Or maybe it's just easier to raise property taxes than bring in business from out of town.
