Jersey City mall shopping news you can use.

Doesn't anyone just blog about Jersey malls?

While we don't, we're here to tell you Armani Exchange is ready to reveal itself in Newport Centre Mall. First Hollister put up their plywood, then Godiva, now Armani Exchange is getting ready to open on the ground floor, all due this summer. Following that, winter brings Abercrombie & Fitch and the rumor of Ruehl No. 925 the concept store A&F CEO Mike Jeffries described as "the fantasy of what it's like to graduate from college and go to New York and make it. It's the New York fantasy." As most people in Jersey City like to pretend this on the PATH train every morning, this would make perfect sense. And improving nothing but name recognition, B Dalton is going to be renamed as a Barnes & Noble.

We have no idea what's doing this after twenty years of stabbings and failed retail from Benetton in the beginning to Tommy Hilfiger just a few years ago, whether it's people who can't afford the gas to go to Short Hills or who can't afford to pay the taxes in New York, but Newport continues to re-imagine itself as a collection of stores worth walking past instead of just running from.
