So we started writing about reality television yesterday, we may as well end the week on that note. If you ever watched Throwdown with Bobby Flay, you may have mixed feelings about the premise. He seeks out people across America skilled at a signature dish and judges determine whether Flay can off-handedly do better in an hour what these people have been trying to perfect their whole lives. Some people think it's sort of rude, some people think it's fixed, so who's right?
Turns out Flay admits he won't try so hard if he likes the competition. If he likes something enough, he'll basically insist beforehand it's so good he can't possibly beat it. But, if he thinks the competition is a jerk, he'll work his hardest to do them in. The judges may have final decision, but as the show just finished taping a competition against a Brooklyn legend who has been having all kinds of bad press and problems this past summer, you've got to wonder how much more motivated Flay was to win.
I think its fixed, and I think he is a jerk!!!

I saw Bobby cook with his new wife---I was so surprised to find him humble and charming!!!--Maybe love can even tame a serial ego maniac jerk as bad as flay--Keep up the good work Stephanie!!--I may even watch Bobby again
