Christmas Shopping Part I: A black and blues Christmas.

We thought we'd attempt to incorporate some of our favorite music from this past year into our holiday shopping guide, and this one seemed easy enough, our favorite black and blue items (all on sale this holiday weekend!) inspired by the bluesy Brooklyn-based Menahan Street Band's Make the Road by Walking. Especially since it's something we could see ourself wearing to their next gig. Is it too much to ask they play some covers from the Vince Guaraldi Trio's A Charlie Brown Christmas?

Even better than picking up the record on vinyl, ($4.99,) a great gift in its own right, would be buying two tickets to their December 20th show at Southpaw.($14.) The Raf Simons x Fred Perry long sleeve polo shirt ($109 from $175) at barneys.com and the leather and herringbone moccasins ($259 from $425) at gucci.com.

And if you're wondering who the hell they are, we guarantee you know their music. Two Brooklyn-based variations on their horns after the jump.

You can read about the evolution of the track here, via BrooklynVegan.
